Fees

ViperBots Robotics depends on funding provided by Leander ISD, students, grants, fundraising, and sponsorships to cover team expenses such as travel costs, registration fees, and build components. Although we receive funds through grants, corporate donations, and sponsorship, students will be assessed a participation fee to cover the costs of travel, t-shirts, snacks, meals, shop supplies, and build components.

ViperBots FTC/FRC Participation Fee – $460

The $460 participation fee must be paid no later than 4/7 for FTC and 5/5 for FRC to secure a spot.

ViperBots Robotics will not refund or credit any part of the fee if a student does not attend events, does not travel, is dismissed from ViperBots, or if the student quits.

Payment plans and need based scholarships are available on a case by case basis.  Please contact ViperBots Robotics Director/Lead Advisor, Elizabeth Lewey, for more information at elizabeth.lewey@leanderisd.org.

FTC Participation Fee

The FTC participation fee will cover the cost of participation in all Austin FTC League Events.  This includes at least 3 Qualifying events and the League Championship.  If a student’s team qualifies for events beyond the "league level", an additional “travel fee” will be assessed for each level of advancement to cover the cost of the trips.

Any travel fee beyond the league level will be determined based on grants awarded, sponsorships, additional fundraising, Leander ISD funding, and actual travel costs. For FTC, teams may qualify to advance to Central Texas FTC Semi Area Championships, Central Texas FTC Area Championships, FTC State Championships, UIL State Championships, and the FTC World Championships.

FRC Participation Fee

The FRC activity fee will cover the cost of participation in 2 FIRST in Texas District events. If the FRC team advances to the FIRST in Texas State Championships (FRC & UIL are the same event) and/or the FRC World Championships, additional travel costs will be assessed to cover the cost of the trips. Additional costs will also be assessed for participation in out of state regionals and off-season events.
